Hearts and Hands is our non-profit set up to provide music scholarships for Unalaska music students regardless of teacher or instrument. Music camps, visiting composers, and a CD recording of our original compositions every year are only part of the opportunities we strive to provide for our community, and, eventually, more Aleutian/Pribilof communities. Our piano students are the inspiration for this non-profit. Together, we make a difference!
the Students of Lynda Lybeck Robinson have been busy composing!

In the same fashion as Hearts and Hands I: Maiden Voyage [2007], and Hearts and Hands II: Encore [2008], all songs on the new CD are composed by the piano students of Lynda Lybeck-Robinson during the school year. They are composed and performed by each student, then recorded as solos, duets, or unique vignettes with sound effects. This year, we include some young singer-songwriters as well, as our musicians discover more of their musical voice with each passing year.
Our Book Of Music books are $25 each (includes S&H) and may be ordered by mail-order only, by writing to:
the Hearts and Hands Project, attn: Lynda, P.O. Box 504, Unalaska, AK 99685.
All proceeds from the Book and the CD are contributed in full to The Hearts and Hands project.

As of October 2009, the Hearts and Hands Project is officially recognized by the IRS as a non-profit under section 501 C-3 of the Internal Revenue Code. This Project is set up to benefit island music students in several ways, and, to mention only a few:
1. Artists in Residence: visiting performers/educators/composers for annual workshops and concerts...2. Music camp and college scholarships for Unalaska music students...3. Fund/facilitate a Hearts and Hands CD Production every year. 4. Funding/facilitating of grad student interns interested in pedagogy to teach privately to the many students on our waiting lists for 9 month stays. 5. and more
Our goal is to offer further inspiration for the island music students and, eventually, the extended music community, for years to come.
